For those unaware, “Poco” was launched as a sub-brand of Xiaomi in August 2018 to represent the company’s line of mid-range smartphones. Poco F1 was the first-ever smartphone to be unveiled under this brand in the same month in India as well as in the international markets. The Poco X2 is not a direct successor to the Poco F1 and appears to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 4G. The smartphone comes with 120Hz ‘RealityFlow’ refresh rate of the screen offering smooth experience be it scrolling through social media apps or playing games. Further, the Poco X2 smartphone features a 6.67-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel and has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It comes with 395 ppi pixel density and has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 91%. The LCD display panel comes with an “Intelligent Dynamic Refresh Rate” technology, which is claimed to dynamically adjust the refresh rate to offer improved results. The Poco X2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G Chipset with a powerful Adreno 618 GPU and comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It runs MIUI 11 based on Android 10 along with Poco launcher on top. It also features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the front and back and HDR 10 support. On the camera front, the display has a punch-hole cut-out at the right which houses dual cameras. It features a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor as the primary camera on the rear that’s supported by an 8MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera. The front camera features a 20MP primary and 2MP sensors. The camera can also record 960fps slow-motion videos as well as RAW format still images.
The Poco X2 also comes equipped with a 4500mAh removable battery pack that draws power through a USB-C port at up to 27W. On the connectivity front, it includes 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Volte, and more. Other specifications include, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and features liquid cool technology, which Poco claims can disintegrate heat 300% faster. The phone also comes with the IR Blaster, hybrid slot for dual SIM cards as well as a microSD card, P2i water-repellent coating, VoWiFi, and Hi-Res Sound. The Poco X2 smartphone will be available in three color variants: Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple, and Phoenix Red. The base model, featuring 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs 15,999 ($225/€205), the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage is priced at Rs 16,999 ($240/€218), and the premium model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at Rs 19,999 ($280/€255). The phone will go on live sale through Flipkart from February 11 at 12 pm (noon) IST. Customers who purchase Poco X2 using ICICI Bank credit/debit cards will get an additional instant discount of Rs 1,000 ($15/€13).
